This is an exciting opportunity for a Hydrogeologist with experience in groundwater consultancy.

The department comprises a leading team of ten hydrogeologists specialising in groundwater resource development and protection. The department is split into two work areas:

• Water resources: groundwater management, water engineering, groundwater chemistry and water treatment, focusing on ‘clean water’ rather than ‘contaminant’ hydrogeology. Clients include food and drinks companies, especially in bottled water, water services companies, private water users, industrial clients, public sector.
• Geothermal system development, where we currently have a number of projects assessing the sustainability and impacts of ground source heating and cooling systems. Clients include property developers, building service engineers, engineering consultancies.

 

The position

The market for low temperature geothermal systems in the UK is growing fast and there are some exciting opportunities for growth within this sector.

The position, reporting to the Water & Environment Director, will require the following key skills:

• groundwater modelling – working under the Senior Groundwater Modeller to deliver high quality water and thermal groundwater models; experience of FEFlow an advantage
• project delivery – undertake projects, working along side other members of the team, to deliver high quality products
• report writing – proven technical report writing skills with an excellent command of the English language
• communication - be an excellent communicator

 

The Conditions

This is a permanent full time position and home working arrangements can be discussed. The notice period will be one month on either side for the first three months, after which the notice period will extend to two months on either side.
