About the venue

Turkey has the 16th largest economy in the world with a population of over 70 million. Bordered by eight countries and widely recognised as a bridge between East and West, Turkey now enjoys sustained economic growth as it moves away from more traditional agricultural activities towards a more industrial focus.

Founded in the 7th Century and capital city of the Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman empires, Istanbul is Turkey's largest city as well as the country's cultural and financial centre. Located on both the European and Asian sides of the Bosphorus, the city is home to more than 12 million people and has been chosen as joint European Capital of Culture for 2010.

The Conrad Istanbul is located in the city centre, adjacent to the Yildiz Palace and Park. The hotel, set in six acres of landscaped gardens, has breathtaking views of the Bosphorus and Old City. There are 590 rooms, state of the art conference facilities, a business centre, two restaurants and a health club as well as indoor and outdoor pools. The hotel is located 22km from Ataturk Airport and takes approximately 30 minutes by taxi.
