Fourth Global Dairy Congress
27 - 29 April 2010, Salzburg
IMPORTANT UPDATE: Plans for the 4th Global Dairy Congress
next week are going ahead as scheduled in Salzburg. Having monitored the air
travel situation closely, we do still expect to run a highly effective event
and are reassured that major efforts are being made by those registered for the
event to ensure they can attend.
About the event
Under this year's theme, Packed with value, we are aiming to explore the many different aspects of value that dairy can offer, from premium to affordability, and from convenience to functionality. We are keen to cover a range of key issues including global market and consumer trends, social responsibility, innovation, health and emerging growth opportunities.
Now in its fourth year, the event is one again designed for industry leaders, suppliers, customers and analysts to gain a complete overview of the latest trends and developments across all continents from top companies around the world, with extensive time for informal contact and discussion.

About the venue
Situated in central Austria at the northern edge of the Alps and by the river Salzach, Salzburg is the country's fourth largest city with a population of around 150,000. Its well-preserved medieval and Baroque old town is testimony to the wealth of the former city-state and is listed as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. Now a popular tourist destination Salzburg is most famous as the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and as host to the world-renowned Salzburg festival of opera, concerts and theatre performances. Salzburg Airport operates numerous scheduled flights within Europe and is a fifteen minute taxi ride from the city centre.
The Salzburg Congress Centre is centrally located and easily accessible via the local motorway network. Officially opened in 2001, the Salzburg Congress is counted amongst Europe's top conference venues, offering state of the art facilities and a range of meeting areas.
Located in the old town close to the cathedral, The Residenz Palace was built in the sixteenth century for use by the prince-Bishops. The spacious and lavishly decorated State Rooms are open to the public, as is the Residence Gallery which houses a collection of European art from the sixteenth to nineteenth centuries. The excellent acoustics of the Knight's Hall, used by young Mozart, can still be appreciated today at the regular Salzburg Palace Concerts.
Accommodation
Allocations for Congress delegates have been arranged at the Salzburg Sheraton and Crowne Plaza.
